ACTIVITY PACKETS
SPARK Families receive weekly packets of reader-friendly, nature-oriented materials. SPARK Mentors give the packets directly to the children at the schools, or to their teachers for distribution. A typical packet might include live pussy willow branches with a discussion of the plant’s soft, fuzzy feel and directions for rooting. Other packets include lessons on leaf identification and counting, or connections to phonemic awareness using an alphabet series based on wildlife found on the Shore. The packets also introduce parents and children to new concepts and information relevant to upcoming FLFF Days.
