General Program Funding
Chesapeake Bay Trust Mini-grants
The Chesapeake Bay Trust Mini Grant Program supports field experiences, fieldwork and student-led action projects as well as teacher professional development and programs to advance environmental literacy in the Chesapeake Bay region.
Youth Environmental Education Grant Program
The Youth Environmental Education Grant Program (Mini Pre-K-12 Environmental Education Grant Program) was established to provide accessible funds to schools, organizations, and agencies for youth environmental education opportunities and educator support. To accomplish this goal the program funds projects that involve youth and students investigating a local environmental issue, problem, or phenomenon through indoor and outdoor research culminating in developing solutions and taking action in their school or community – also known as the MWEE model.
Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Grant
The NOAA Chesapeake Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET Chesapeake) grant supports programs that provide hands-on environmental education about issues affecting the Chesapeake Bay watershed for students through “meaningful watershed educational experiences” (MWEEs) and related professional development for educators who serve formal K-12 audiences.
Toyota TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers
Funds support projects that demonstrate creativity, involve risk-taking, possess a visionary quality, and model a novel way of presenting science. Proposed projects should promote exciting and innovative activities to motivate students in science.
Dominion Energy Environmental Education and Stewardship Grants
Dominion Energy will once again provide $1 million in environmental grants this year through the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. The competitive program is designed to support specific short-term projects by nonprofit organizations and schools working to improve the environment and provide environmental education experiences in communities served by Dominion Energy.
Walmart Local Community Grants
Walmart seeks to create value in the communities around the world where they operate, strengthening them through local grants supporting programs that help the community thrive.
The NEA Foundation Student Success Grants
The NEA Foundation provides funds for educators to take the lead on a wide range of projects to improve student learning. Grant funds can be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, technology, or scholars-in-residence. Although some funds may be used to support the professional development necessary to implement the project, the majority of grant funds must be spent on materials or educational experiences for students.
Captain Planet Foundation Grant Opportunities
Captain Planet Foundation invests in high-quality, solution-based programs that embrace STEM learning and empower youth to become local & global environmental change-makers. Educators, both K-12 classroom and informal, who are interested in receiving support for students to design and implement hands-on environmental solutions are eligible for project funding.

The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation offers Academic Enrichment Grants designed to develop in-class and extra-curricular programs that improve student learning. The Foundation considers proposals that foster understanding, deepen students’ knowledge, and provide opportunities to expand awareness of the world around them.
Kinder Morgan Foundation Grants
The purpose of Kinder Morgan grants are to provide program support for educators who teach underserved youth in grades K-12.
