Payment Information

There will now be a two step billing process.

1) Once your registration has been received and processed it will take up to 5 business days to create an invoice. The first invoice you will receive is for the Non-Refundable deposit of $100. This deposit will need to be paid within 5 business days. If the non-refundable deposit is not paid, your camper will be removed from camp and you will have to re-register if you are still interested in coming to camp. Once the non-refundable deposit is paid, a second invoice will be sent. This non-refundable deposit is NOT an additional cost to you, it is included in the fees listed for each camps' cost.

2) The second invoice you will receive is the remaining balance due.  This invoice can be paid in as few or little payments as you like, as long as the balance is paid in full two weeks prior to your camp start date.

Payments cannot be processed until invoices have been made. Please be patient as we process each registration manually. Payments may be made over the phone, online, or via check. If you have applied for a scholarship, it may take up to three weeks to process your application. You are responsible for all deposit payments to secure your campers spot if you register before receiving a response about the scholarship. You have 5 working days to pay the non-refundable deposit from the invoice date. If a deposit is not made within two weeks, your camper will be removed from the camp and you will need to re-register them.

Checks may also be made out to Chincoteague Bay Field Station and mailed to:

Chincoteague Bay Field Station
Attn: Day Camps
34001 Mill Dam Road
Wallops Island, VA 23337

Once you complete your registration form, you will receive an invoice within five business days with a link to the online payment portal.

Payments must be made in full two weeks prior to the beginning of camp. If you need to set up a payment plan, please contact our office.

Refund & Cancellation Policy:

Chincoteague Bay Field Station (CBFS) requires a $100.00 non-refundable deposit for its day camps. No refunds will be issued for cancellations fewer than 14 days from the start of camp. A full refund less the non-refundable deposit will be made for any cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the start date of camp. All refunds will be issued via check to the address listed in the registration.  Should CBFS cancel any camp, individuals will be issued a 100% refund, including the deposit.

Testimonials from Parents

They learn about marine ecology in an environment that can’t be beat— well-trained, environmental educators and they are within proximity to various ecosystems.

My two boys have attended this camp for the second year and are already excited for what’s in store for next year! Hands on, engaging and memorable learning activities galore! This camp is organized, well run and a wonderful learning experience!

Love the opportunity for my daughter to learn about the ecosystems near Chincoteague.

We will definitely be back next year. My daughter learned a tremendous amount and is using it in casual conversation which is so awesome to learn from her as well. The educators all seemed kind and well versed.

This was my son's third camp; it's an excellent life enhancing learning experience.

Great people doing great work. Please accept our gratitude and thanks.

This was his second time. By the end of the week he was asking if he could go next year!
