Getting Here

​Join CBFS as we explore the tidal creeks that wind through the salt marshes! We'll take a leisurely kayak trip through our unique coastal ecosystem while learning about the ecology of the area and keeping an eye and ear out for the organisms that live here. Kayaks, paddles, and life vests provided. Kayaks are tandem, so bring a buddy and enjoy the Eastern Shore from a whole new perspective! Single kayakers will be paired upon arrival.

Exact paddling locations will be determined closer to the program date based on conditions at each site.

Times:  July 10, 9:00am to 11:30am
August 14 (sunset paddle), 6:30pm to 9:00pm
Tuition: $50 per person
Meeting Place: Chincoteague Bay Field Station, 34001 Mill Dam Road, Wallops Island, VA

What participants need to wear/bring:

• Bathing suit or clothing that can get wet
• Towel
• ​Shoes that can get wet
• Water bottle

​PLEASE NOTE: This program is restricted to participants 13 years and older. Participants should be able to swim. Participants under the age of 18 will not be allowed to participate without an adult. All minor participants must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
