PLEASE NOTE: If you or anybody in your group is participating in any of the field excursions or activities on Saturday, or staying on campus, they must complete a health & waiver form. We need a separate completed health form for each person participating. The health & waiver form can be found on our website by clicking here. You may mail or email completed health forms ahead of time or turn them in when you arrive.

Friday, October 19th
Check-In | 3PM-6PM | $50/Night-Double Occupancy Room, $80/Night-Quad Bed Occupancy Room
Housing available Friday and Saturday nights in our air-conditioned suite style housing. Bathroom is shared with 3 other rooms.
Check in will be at the Education Center. Staff will be there to greet you and answer any questions you may have.
*Rooms do not include linens. Linens available (per person) upon request in online registration form for $10, packet includes one towel & washcloth, one fitted sheet, one blanket, and one pillow & pillowcase.*

Evening Activities
Bonfire | 7:30PM-10:00 Catch up with friends and enjoy a s'more, or two! Limited log seating provided. Coquina Commons | 7:30PM-10:00 Coquina Commons will be open for those who want to catch up indoors. Group seating and games available. Restroom available upstairs. Note: Chincoteague Bay Field Station is a dry campus. Please observe and respect this guideline. Black Narrows Brewing | 7:30PM-10:00PM The first brewery to open on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Black Narrows is a proud partner and supporter of Chincoteague Bay Field Station. As part of their community oriented mission they have pledged to donate 5% of their gross beer sales to 12 local causes-including CBFS's SPARK Outreach Program. The crew that runs this place is family oriented and genuine to the core. Be sure to stop by and say hello! This will be an informal gathering and Black Narrows Brewing will still be open to the public. Please drink responsibly. Morning Activities

Breakfast will include choice of: Pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, grits, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, and milk. Coffee will be available. Will include hot meal option, cold cereal options, and fruit selection. Coffee available. *Note: Must register ahead of time for this meal.* Open House | 10:00AM-3:00PM | FREE-All Ages Welcome Stop by the Education Center for a family friendly-open house featuring crafts, organism exhibits, educational & research displays, hands-on activities and games, live demos, and more! This is a free event and open to the public!! Boat Trips | 9:00AM-11:30AM | $25.00/person Join us for a tour through the tidal creeks of Chincoteague Bay on our two flat bottom research vessels. Learn about the natural history of the area, experience first hand deploying our trawl net, and get an up-close look at the organisms that call the salt marsh waters home. These trips will be led by our experienced captains and a professor from one of our member universities. -Must be 9 years of age or older to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult. -Participants must wear closed-toe shoes on our research vessels. -Maximum of 40 participants total on a first come, first serve basis. Wallops Island Excursions | 9:00AM-11:30AM | $10.00/person Visit NASA Wallops Island beach with our staff and professors. Whether to beach comb or conduct research, this site has always been a favorite for our alumni! Transportation to and from base will be provided. All ages welcome!! -Participants 18 and older must bring a valid drivers license for NASA Island access. -Foreign Nationals: please contact CBFS well in advance to discuss Island access. -Maximum of 40 participants total on a first come, first serve basis. Kayaking | 9:00AM-11:30AM | $20.00/person Kayak through the tidal creeks for an up-close look at the flora and fauna of the salt marsh. Our knowledgeable staff will share natural history and nature nuggets along the way! This will be an intermediate level paddle using tandem sit-on kayaks. Lifejackets provided. -Must be 9 years of age or older to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult. -This will be an intermediate level paddle requiring participants to be in good health and physical fitness. May encounter currents and wind. -Maximum of 18 participants total on a first come, first serve basis. |

Join past and present friends of Chincoteague Bay Field Station for a locally sourced dinner, Chesapeake Bay style! This will be an all-you-can-eat meal including a salad, seasonal shellfish, corn, potatoes, and dessert. A non-seafood option of chicken, sausage, and veggies will also be available. Adult ticket prices include seafood meal, one ticket for wine or beer, 1 raffle ticket, and admission to Silent Auction. Additional raffle and drink tickets may be purchased night of.
Silent Auction items available will include local artisan crafts, packages assembled by the Eastern Shore's finest businesses, handmade furniture, and more!

Dr. Sean Cornell is an Associate Professor at Shippensburg University and a passionate supporter of Chincoteague Bay Field Station. Join us in the Dining Hall after breakfast for a presentation and slideshow as we take a trip back in time through 50 years of hands on, feet wet education. Light refreshments provided.
*Note: All guests using on-site housing must be checked out of their room by 10AM.*
