- Week 1 will be taught at Chincoteague Bay Field Station May 24, 2026 - May 29, 2026
- Week 2 & 3 at (RIMS) Roatan Institute of Marine Science at Anthony's Key Resort May 30, 2026 - June 13, 2026
- Enrollment in this course prevents enrollment in any Session 2 course due to overlapping schedules.

Course Description:
Coral reefs are unique assemblages of life and one of the most appealing ecosystems in marine science. The unique biology of corals allows high productivity and diversity in an area that should produce very little. The focus of this course is to introduce you to the unique aspects of coral reefs, and to give you a working knowledge of reef species and reef ecology.
The Field Station fee includes airfare, shared housing, scuba dives, meals, and other trip fees. The fee does not include University tuition.
General Description of Field Activities:
One week at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station. Two weeks in Roatan, Honduras. SCUBA certification required. Will dive 20-25 times over two weeks along a variety of coral formations.

2026 Chincoteague Bay Field Station Fee:
The Field Station fee includes airfare, shared housing, scuba dives, meals, and other trip fees.

Field Station fee: $7,000
Nonrefundable deposit: $1000 due pending confirmation of the class running

- Up to date passport
- Have (or will have) a valid scuba certification
