MARITIME FOREST
Walk back in time on Assateague Island. Students will investigate the maritime forest from top to bottom discovering decomposers and other animals that call the forest home.

- Actively learn about the parts of a tree
- Observe different trees and come up with ways to identify tree species
- Discuss stresses inherent to maritime forest habitats and how plants have adapted
- Search for evidence of primary and secondary succession
