ON-SITE LODGING
Chincoteague Bay Field Station (CBFS) is a residential environmental learning center and field station which provides hands-on educational programs on coastal and marine environments. Summit participants will be housed in one of the CBFS's residence halls. Single and double accommodations are offered in Red Knot Residence Hall and Salicornia Suites. Both residence halls are less than four years old with central heat and air-conditioning. Rooms are organized into suites that contain four bedrooms and two hall bathrooms. Accommodations are simple and comfortable. Suites will be divided into male and female suites as well as co-ed for couples. Each hall bathroom will be shared by no more than two bedrooms. Bedrooms have single twin beds, no bunk beds. Each room has 2-4 beds, one night stand or desk, a lamp and clothing storage. Linens are provided. These accommodations give participants the private space they need, in private single bedrooms or shared with desired roommate, as well as great opportunities for socializing with others. On-site lodging fees are included in the "Full Summit Single" and "Full Summit Double" packages. There are lodging options available for summit attendees wishing to bring a non-participating spouse. Lodging for a non-participant guest attending with a summit participant paying the single occupancy fee is $105. Meals for the full three days are $120. |
OFF-SITE LODGING
CBFS is eight miles from Chincoteague Island, a busy beach town with plenty of hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, and campgrounds. November is prime birding and photography season so accommodations on Chincoteague may be harder to find. Book early to ensure your space. Please note that if you choose to stay off-site, you must book directly with the hotel.
